For years, Orville Peck’s signature fringed mask has been part of his identity. His voice, deep, haunting, and unmistakable, has captivated audiences, but his face has remained a mystery. That is, until now.
With his Broadway debut in Cabaret, Peck is making a bold choice: he's unmasking. "I wouldn't do it for just anything," he explained. "Cabaret means so much to me. I have such respect for theater, and I knew it wasn’t about me, it was about the story."
The decision to reveal his face is not just a publicity stunt. The choice aligns with the
themes of the show itself. Cabaret is about transformation, self-discovery, and the masks we wear. "Live theater is about being present," Peck said. "It can't be captured, it can't be recreated, it can't be kept. It's a moment."
Fans will still see glimpses of the mask in promotional material, but the full reveal is reserved for the Kit Kat Club audience. It's a theatrical statement, one that makes this production of Cabaret even more unmissable.
