Jonathan Groff to Star in New Broadway Musical Just In Time

Tony Award winner Jonathan Groff (Merrily We Roll Along, Hamilton) is set to return to Broadway in the world premiere of Just In Time, a new musical based on the life of iconic American entertainer Bobby Darin. Produced by Tom Kirdahy, Robert Ahrens, and John Frost, the show is directed by Tony Award winner Alex Timbers, transforming Broadway’s Circle in the Square Theatre into an immersive nightclub for an unforgettable experience.

Groff will portray Darin, whose career was marked by meteoric success and tragic lows, as he navigates his journey from teen idol to international star. The production promises a rich blend of Darin’s most famous hits, including “Beyond the Sea,” “Splish Splash,” “Dream Lover,” and “Mack the Knife.” The cast of 16 will perform alongside a live big band, making Just In Time a celebration of Darin’s unique brand of musical genius.

Set to open on April 23, 2025, with previews beginning March 28, Just In Time features a book by Tony Award winner Warren Leight (Side Man) and Isaac Oliver (The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel). The creative team includes music supervision and arrangements by Andrew Resnick (Parade) and choreography by Shannon Lewis (Radio City Music Hall). The musical is based on an original concept by Ted Chapin.
