Lincoln Center Theater's Ragtime Kicks Off Rehearsals with Complete Cast

Lincoln Center Theater has revealed the complete cast for Ragtime, the first production of Artistic Director Lear deBessonet’s inaugural season. The revival will begin previews at the Vivian Beaumont Theater on September 26, with opening night set for October 16.

Leading the production are Tony nominee Joshua Henry as Coalhouse Walker Jr., Olivier and Grammy nominee Caissie Levy as Mother, and Tony Award winner Brandon Uranowitz as Tateh. They will be joined by Colin Donnell, Nichelle Lewis, Ben Levi Ross, Tony winner Shaina Taub, John Clay III, and Rodd Cyrus. New additions to the principal cast include Anna Grace Barlow as Evelyn Nesbit, Nick Barrington as The Little Boy, and Tabitha Lawing as The Little Girl.
The large ensemble features Nicholas Barrón, Lauren Blackman, Briana Carlson-Goodman, Jordan Chin, Billy Cohen, Rheaume Crenshaw, Charity Angél Dawson, Ellie Fishman, Jason Forbach, Ta’Nika Gibson, David Jennings, Kaleb Johnson, Marina Kondo, Morgan Marcell, Kane Emmanuel Miller, Tom Nelis, Kent Overshown, Kayla Pecchioni, John Rapson, Deandre Sevon, Jacob Keith Watson, and Alan Wiggins. Swings and understudies include Eean Sherrod Cochran, Kerry Conte, Nick Gaswirth, Jackson Parker Gill, Jenny Mollet, Matthew Scott, and Ellie May Sennett.
With a Tony-winning score by Stephen Flaherty and Lynn Ahrens and a book by Terrence McNally, Ragtime weaves together the stories of three families at the turn of the 20th century: Black pianist Coalhouse Walker Jr. and his love Sarah, Jewish immigrant Tateh and his daughter, and a wealthy white family led by Mother. The show blends fictional characters with real historical figures, capturing the tensions and aspirations of an America in transition.
The creative team for the Lincoln Center Theater production of Ragtime includes Ellenore Scott (choreography), David Korins (set design), Linda Cho (costume design), Adam Honoré (lighting design), Kai Harada (sound design), 59 Studio (projection design), Tom Watson (hair and wig design), Ann James (sensitivity specialist), and The Telsey Office, Craig Burns, CSA (casting). Music Director James Moore will conduct a 28-piece orchestra featuring original orchestrations by William David Brohn, and vocal arrangements by Stephen Flaherty. Cody Renard Richard is the production stage manager.
Ragtime is produced by Lincoln Center Theater in association with Tom Kirdahy, Kevin Ryan, Robert Greenblatt, and Lamar Richardson, along with Thomas M. Neff, Roy and Jill Furman, Stephanie P. McClelland, Michael Page, Acton Rothschild Productions/Willette and Manny Klausner, Alexander-Taylor Deignan/Jay and Mary Sullivan, D’Angora Padgett Productions/Janet and Marvin Rosen, Maggio Lane/ Rubin Bolosh, and Peter May/Coluzzi Cohen. This revival follows last year’s acclaimed gala staging at New York City Center.
