Producer Brian Anthony Moreland has announced a revival of August Wilson’s Joe Turner’s Come and Gone, set to open on Broadway in Spring 2026. Golden Globe winner and Oscar nominee Taraji P. Henson will make her Broadway debut alongside Cedric “The Entertainer” Kyles, who returns to the stage for the first time since 2008. The production will be directed by Emmy and Golden Globe winner Debbie Allen and presented at a Shubert Theatre to be announced.

Set in 1911, the play follows the residents of a Pittsburgh boarding house during the Great Migration, centering on a man named Herald Loomis searching for his lost wife and identity after years of illegal enslavement. Henson and Kyles will play Bertha and Seth Holly, the couple who run the home. This marks a return to Wilson’s work for Moreland, whose recent credits include The Piano Lesson and Othello.

Allen, a Kennedy Center honoree and upcoming recipient of an honorary Oscar, brings decades of stage and screen experience to the production. Henson most recently starred in Fight Night and Tyler Perry’s Straw, while Cedric continues to lead CBS’s The Neighborhood and expand his work as an author and entrepreneur.
