Tony winner Aaron Tveit, Emmy nominee Lea Michele, and Nicholas Christopher will lead the first-ever Broadway revival of CHESS, opening Fall 2025 at a Shubert theater to be announced.

With a new book by Danny Strong (Dopesick), the production features music by ABBA’s Benny Andersson and Björn Ulvaeus and lyrics by Tim Rice (Evita). Michael Mayer (Spring Awakening) will direct, with choreography by Lorin Latarro (Waitress) and music supervision by Brian Usifer.

CHESS follows a tense Cold War-era chess championship where love, politics, and power collide. The revival is presented by Tom Hulce, Robert Ahrens, The Shubert Organization, and Creative Partners Productions.
