New York City Center is bringing the musical Urinetown back to the stage, featuring a star-studded cast and fresh direction from Teddy Bergman (KPOP). This darkly comedic tale unfolds in a dystopian society where a greedy corporation controls the most basic human necessity, public restrooms. As the resistance grows, so does the tension, setting the stage for an unforgettable rebellion led by Bobby Strong, played by Jordan Fisher. With a limited run from February 5-16, this production promises to deliver sharp humor, show-stopping performances, and a poignant social message.
In a newly released rehearsal clip, Keala Settle takes center stage as Penelope Pennywise for a powerhouse rendition of “It’s a Privilege to Pee.” Watch Settle, Jordan Fisher, Kevin Cahoon, and the ensemble perform this powerhouse number.
Another video offers a glimpse into “Follow Your Heart,” a tender duet between Fisher’s Bobby Strong and Stephanie Styles as Hope Cladwell.
The cast for Urinetown includes Jenni Barber, Josh Breckenridge, Yeman Brown, Kevin Cahoon, Jordan Fisher, Christopher Fitzgerald, Pearl Scarlett Gold, Greg Hildreth, Jeff Hiller, Tiffany Mann, Daniel Quadrino, Graham Rowat, Keala Settle, Stephanie Styles, Myra Lucretia Taylor, Rainn Wilson, and John Yi.
