A very special bear is heading to Broadway.
Paddington The Musical, the award-winning stage adaptation of Michael Bond's beloved bear, will begin performances at Broadway's Al Hirschfeld Theatre on March 30, 2027, ahead of an official opening night on April 18, 2027.
The production arrives in New York after a record-breaking run in London's West End, where it won seven Olivier Awards, including Best New Musical, and became the most awarded new musical in West End history.
Based on A Bear Called Paddington and the hit film franchise, the musical follows a young bear from Peru who travels to London in search of a home and discovers friendship, adventure and family along the way.
The Broadway production is being presented by Sonia Friedman Productions, STUDIOCANAL and Eliza Lumley Productions on behalf of Universal Music UK.
Featuring music and lyrics by Tom Fletcher, a book by Jessica Swale and direction by Luke Sheppard, the musical has captured audiences of all ages with its blend of heart, humor and spectacle.
"It has been the greatest adventure of my career to be entrusted with bringing Paddington's story to life on stage," Fletcher said in a statement. "It's a great privilege to welcome New York audiences into Paddington's world of curiosity."
Tickets start at $69 and are now on sale at broadway.paddingtonthemusical.com.
