Starring Tony Award winner Aaron Tveit (Moulin Rouge! The Musical), Emmy Award nominee Lea Michele (Funny Girl), and Nicholas Christopher (Sweeney Todd), CHESS promises a thrilling new take on a story of love, loyalty, and power set against the tension of the Cold War chess world. The musical explores the emotional stakes as two grandmasters face off, not only across the board, but for the heart of the woman caught between them.

This revival features a new book by Emmy Award winner Danny Strong (Dopesick), with music and lyrics by ABBA’s Benny Andersson and Björn Ulvaeus and EGOT winner Tim Rice (Evita). The production is directed by Tony Award winner Michael Mayer (Spring Awakening), choreographed by Drama Desk Award nominee Lorin Latarro (Waitress), and features music supervision by Brian Usifer.

CHESS begins previews October 15 and officially opens November 16 at the Imperial Theatre, located at 249 West 45th Street.
