Lincoln Center Theater has announced its 2026-27 season, the second under the artistic leadership of Lear deBessonet, featuring a lineup of Broadway revivals, world premieres, and special events across its three stages.
Leading the Broadway season at the Vivian Beaumont Theater is the first-ever Broadway revival of Aaron Sorkin’s A Few Good Men. Directed by Tony Award winner Michael Arden, the production will star Bradley Whitford and Tom Blyth, who will make his Broadway debut. Performances begin October 8, 2026.
In spring 2027, Lincoln Center Theater will present its first Broadway revival of The Sound of Music in nearly 30 years. Directed by deBessonet and choreographed by Tony Award winner Christopher Gattelli, the production will star Tony nominee Jasmine Amy Rogers as Maria. Performances begin March 23, 2027.
“Our second season is rooted in a simple belief: people are hungry for meaningful shared experiences,” deBessonet said in a statement accompanying the announcement.
Off-Broadway at the Mitzi E. Newhouse Theater, the season will feature a revival of August Wilson’s Seven Guitars directed by Ruben Santiago-Hudson, the New York premiere of Mark Jenkins’ Playing Burton starring Matthew Rhys, and the world premiere of Kimberly Belflower’s Born in the Dirt, directed by Danya Taymor. The season also includes the previously announced The Whoopi Monologues, starring Dominique Fishback, Kecia Lewis, Danielle Pinnock, Kerry Washington, and Kara Young.
At the Claire Tow Theater, LCT3 Artistic Director Maria Manuela Goyanes will oversee a season of new work, including Mfoniso Udofia’s creation stories and all the important importants and Emma Watkins’ Pretend It’s Pretend.
The organization also announced several new initiatives, including “The Composer Series,” featuring Sara Bareilles, Lin-Manuel Miranda, and Pasek & Paul, along with the return of its Reading Series and Comedy Series. Expanded community engagement programming and a revamped membership program are also planned for the upcoming season.
The announcement follows a landmark season for Lincoln Center Theater, highlighted by the Tony Award-winning revival of Ragtime, which won four Tony Awards including Best Revival of a Musical and has become one of the institution’s biggest recent successes.
Additional casting, creative team members, ticket information, and on-sale dates for several productions will be announced at a later date. For more information on LCT visit www.LCT.org
